Home office: my wishlist of must-have items for productivity and comfort

I’ve a few items on my wishlist for my home office. Here they are , in no particular order:

Pomodoro timer

pomodoro timer

This timer from Minimal Desk Set-Ups is super sleek looking, and is ideal for those of us who need a bit of help to conquer distractions. The premise is that you set the timer for a block of focused work, e.g. 25 minutes, and then also set a time for a break before your next blog, e.g. 5 minutes. By having a timer that’s separate to your phone, means you’re less likely to end up doom-scrolling on social media!

A standing desk

The science would suggest that by standing to work, you can increase your focus and productivity. I’m keen to try it out for myself, and so a standing desk - like this one from certified BCorp Wellworking - is on my wishlist. Let me know in the comments, have you tried a standing desk before and what impact did it have on your work? I’d love to hear from you!

Daily inspiration

customisable menu board

I also love the idea of having a cool way to showcase quotes on the wall, and really like these letterboards from George & Willy. I’ve recently invested in a whiteboard for the wall, and I’ve managed to successfully hang a set of shelves for my books… but I think a little extra something like this would really complete the room and give me a boost of motivation when I pause to read it.

A new dog bed

Lastly, for Evie’s comfort (my wee office side-kick), a dog bed would be ideal because she keeps stealing my seat!
