Each week I have carved out time for giving, and I volunteer at The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice which is set within Bellahouston Park. I run a mindfulness meditation for the out-patient visitors in the Living Well Hub every Wednesday, and it’s one of the highlights of my week.

The hospice is such a lovely place - I feel my shoulders drop whenever I step out of my van into the grounds. It’s all been so thoughtfully designed, and the building as well as the garden is beautiful and peaceful.

Did you know that there is a cafe within the hospice, called Bargacree, that’s open to the public? All profits from the cafe directly support patient care in the hospice. I’ve been in a few times and the food is lovely, plus they are also dog friendly. Evie loved the treat she got in the foyer! I’ve included a photograph of the entranceway below - if you haven’t visited before, it’s not like a hospital at all.

There’s also a lovingly curated gift shop which is open to the public. You can also shop online here.

I hosted a networking event at the hospice in October 2022 for local coaches and small business owners, and hope to run a similar event in the New Year (add yourself into my mailing list here if you’d like to hear first about any events I run). All proceeds went to the hospice, and I was delighted to be able to use the space. There’s an Education Suite that can be hired, as well as a variety of other rooms.

I wanted to also share that the hospice regularly run fundraiser events; in October I took my daughter along to a drive-in movie that the hospice had organised, and there is a Christmas Fayre taking place at the end of November (Sunday 27th; tickets for adults are £5).

Lastly, did you know that the hospice have a beauty salon? Beauty with a Conscience is located in Battlefield in Glasgow’s Southside and all profits go to the hospice. I popped in last month for a facial, back massage and head massage… and it was bliss, and reasonably priced (I took advantage of their Halloween special offer and had 3 express treatments, 1.5 hours, for £44). You’ll find them on Instagram here.
