The power of a weekly check-in

Over the last few months, I’ve formalised my approach to my weekly reflection and planning.

I say formalised, but basically what I mean is that I now have it as a diarised appointment.

It’s been really powerful having this time carved out to reflect and plan, not just for my business but also in my personal life too.

REFLECTION

The format I take is a reflection of my prior week - what went well, what did I achieve (celebrate the wins!) and what could have been better. I will look at my metrics, or numbers… I’m going to do a separate post on this (watch this space!), but essentially there are certain things that I’m tracking and I’ll have a look to see how these are shaping up.

CALENDAR

I then will take some time to review my calendar for the week ahead, typically in conjunction with my master to-do-list. I may need to adjust some of my time blocks based on appointments that I have, and so I will move things around as needed. I also make sure that the activities I have scheduled are going to help move the needle in my business (based on the reflections, I can best decide where to put my energy).

PLANNING

Next up is some additional planning… for me I will usually whip up a quick meal plan for the week ahead, and also think about what content I want to create & schedule for my business.

INTENTION

Lastly, I’ll think about what my intention is for the week ahead. How do I want to feel, who do I want to be… and so on.

I’d love to hear from you - do you have a process to review and plan your week?
